Vola Marie (Coker) Pierson Newman age 94 of Columbus, Kansas passed away Saturday August 10, 2019 at the Columbus Medical Lodge. She was born April 20, 1925 in Columbus, Kansas to Cecil F. and Lorene Rose (Scott) Coker.
She married Willis Marvin Pierson on May 27, 1944. They were divorced August 10, 1976. He passed away May 22, 2002.
On April 8, 1986 she married Glen Richard Newman and he passed away June 6, 2008. Vola was in sales and design for Jaccards of Kansas City and retired from Edwards of Kansas City in 1986. She was a member of The First Christian Church of Columbus and the Eastern Star for over 70 years.
Survivors include one daughter Rose Hanson of Columbus, one son Cecil Pierson of the state of Oregon. Two grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her brother; Cecil Coker Jr. and one grandson.
There will be a memorial service at a later date.
