Polly Steele

Pauline “Polly” Steele of Bronaugh, Missouri passed away on August 10,2019 surrounded by her loving family and dear caregivers. Polly was a longtime Pittsburg, Kansas resident. In Pittsburg she was active and involved as a leader in numerous civic and charitable organizations. A former President of Chapter AQ PEO - she continued as a Golden Girl in Chapter AQ until her passing.

Born Pauline Lashbrook December 28, 1927 in Arkansas, Polly is preceded in death by her mother Evelyn Henry and father Robert Paul Lashbrook of Pittsburg, and her sister Betty Mitchell of Dallas.

She is survived by her adoring husband Louis “Lou Mac” Steele; her daughter Missi (Menchetti) Camp and her husband David; her son Paul Menchetti, his wife Terri, and their children Stephanie, Samantha, and Brooke; her stepson Louis D. Steele , and his wife Rachael, and their children Elizabeth and Julie; her stepdaughter Linda Phinney, and her husband Mike, and her children John and Kelly.










Polly was, loved, valued, and cherished by her family and friends. Polly had a love for travel and a lifelong appreciation for the beauty of nature. She brought energy, dedication, and positivity to all areas of her life. Her radiant and gentle spirit will be missed.

The family is forever grateful for all the dedication and loving care provided by her caregivers including Vickie Milsap, Susan Ackerson, Martha Caviness, Charlotte Dauben, and Emily Workman. These wonderful women did more than provide excellent care. They became part of the fabric of our family over the years.

The family will have a private service. Donations to the Bronaugh Missouri R-VII School system may be made in Polly’s memory.
