Grover Sills

Grover Wesley Sills, 92, of Baxter Springs, KS passed from this life on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at High Call Nursing Home, Quapaw, OK.

Grover was born on February 3, 1927 in Baxter Springs, KS to the union of Homer A. and Grace Mae (Dooley) Sills. Grover was a lifetime area resident, working in the mines and later in construction. Grover enjoyed woodworking and fishing.

Grover was united in marriage to Edna May (Dinger) Sills on April 1, 1945 in Hockerville, OK. She survives of the home.








Additional survivors include one daughter, Peggy Garber and husband David of Zapata, TX; two sons, Edward Sills of Colorado Springs, CO, and Terry Sills of Baxter Springs, KS; three sisters, Carlene Neal of Baxter Springs, KS, Wilma Busick of Greenville, KY, and Francis Doolen of Wichita, KS; 8 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren.

Grover is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Crystal Carpenter, and Dorothy Taylor; one brother, Carl Sills.

Memorial graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 5, 2019 at the Baxter Springs Cemetery. Grover has been entrusted to Derfelt’s Baxter Chapel for cremation.
