Bob Cardwell

Robert “Bob” D. Cardwell, 75, of Erie, died at 11:20 P.M., Thursday, August 8, 2019 at the Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center at Chanute.

He was born July 2, 1944 at Wichita, KS, a son of William Dudley and Marilyn (Baughman) Cardwell. He grew up in Wichita and attended school there.

On April 28, 1962 he was united in marriage to Dixie Arlene Bryan at Denver, CO. The couple lived in Denver several years and Bob worked in construction. He eventually owned and operated his own construction company and built homes and other buildings. After he retired in 2013 he and Dixie moved to Eire.








He attended the First Christian Church at Erie. He enjoyed antiques and worked on antique stoves.

Survivors include: his wife – Dixie Arlene Cardwell, of the home; two sons – Kevin Cardwell, Of Arvada, Colorado, Kenneth Cardwell, of Elbert, Colorado; five grandchildren – Jacob Garcia, Of Denver, Colorado, Madison Garcia, of Centennial, Colorado, Madison Small, of Arvada, Colorado, Jennifer Cardwell, of Colby, Kansas, Zachary Cardwell, of Colby, Kansas; one great-granddaughter – Avelynn Small, of Arvada, Colorado; one brother and son in-law – Dennis and Sandy Cardwell, of Erie, KS; one sister – Connie Davis, of Denver, Colorado; two nieces – Cindy and Karri Davis, of Denver, Colorado; one nephew – Richie Cardwell, of Denver, Colorado; four great-nieces; three great-nephews; one daughter in-law – Kim Cardwell, Of Colby, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, August 24, 2019 at the First Christian Church at Erie with Dr. Michael Haggard officiating. Burial will be in the Bowman and Adgate Cemetery at rural Lebo, held at a later date. The Pierce-Carson-Wall Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
