Todd Alan Westervelt, age 54, of Cherokee, Kansas passed away Sunday, August 4, 2019.
Todd was born January 17, 1965 to Robert Ray and Shirley (Reynolds) Westervelt. He lived in the area most of his life, marrying Barbara Rodriguez June 1, 1985, in Cherokee; she survives of the home.
He worked as a switch man for TM Track. Until 2005 Todd enjoyed farming with his brother; they farmed grain and cattle. He was a volunteer fireman for 20 years, and loved to camp, read, and spend time with his family. He also enjoyed being outdoors and swimming at the pits.
Also surviving Todd are two sons: Joshua Westervelt (wife Lanessa) of Girard, KS, and Aaron Westervelt (fiancé Lenna Swank) of Scammon, KS; one daughter Madison Westervelt of Pittsburg; one brother Rick Westervelt (wife Sandra) of Cherokee, KS; one sister Lisa Blake (husband Mark) of Olathe, KS; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and grandparents.
Cremation arrangements are being handled by Derfelt Funeral Home in Columbus, KS. The family will host a memorial service to be held Friday, August 23, 2019 at 1:00 PM, at First Baptist Church of Cherokee.
In lieu of flowers the family asks for cash donations to help with end time expenses, either in care of the funeral home, or left at the memorial service; or you may donate to the go fund me account in his name.
