Thomas Weston

Thomas Henry Weston, 96, of Girard passed away at 6:35 p.m., April 10, 2020 at his residence in Girard.

Thomas was born June 24, 1923 in Hepler, Kansas a son of Ono and Imo (McIntosh) Weston.

He attended school in Hepler, graduating from the Hepler High School in 1941; he then attended welding school in Hutchinson, Kansas.

Thomas served in the United States Navy from 1944 until his honorable discharge in 1946.

On June 1, 1949, Thomas was united in marriage to Claire Marie Kennedy at the St. Francis Catholic Church in St. Paul Kansas: she preceded him in death on September 11, 2018.








Thomas owned and operated his family farm for over fifty-five years before moving to Girard He also worked for as a welder for the Bourbon County Road and Bridge.

He and Claire enjoyed square dancing for over twenty years. He was a gifted machinist and built his own tractor, manufacturing many of his own parts, He also enjoyed making Christmas decorations for Claire and his family. These were animated decorations and were much enjoyed by his family and many friends.

Thomas is survived by one son; Wayne Weston and wife Luzia of Canyon Lake. Texas, three daughters: Sharon Burns and husband Jack of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Joyce Weston of Girard, Donna McDaniels and husband Larry of Moorsville, North Carolina; nine grandchildren and two great-grandsons.

In addition to his wife, Thomas was preceded in death by one brother, Gerald Weston and one sister, Irene Gilliland.

A private service will be held at the St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Walnut with Burial to follow.
