Gladys J Gandy, age 82, passed away at 5:42 am Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at Mercy Hospital, Joplin, MO following an illness.
She was born June 18, 1937 in Galena, KS. Her parents were Leslie and Mable (Coffey) Frazier.
Gladys grew up in Galena and returned in 1993 from Shell Knob, MO. She had worked in the school lunch program at Haysville, KS for several years. She was a lifetime member of the Spring River Boat and Ski Club and the Tuesday Club. She enjoyed Bingo, and playing 3 card poker. She enjoyed going to area casinos. Gladys was dedicated to patronizing Galena, in fact, she was once awarded the Citizen of the Year from the Galena Elks Lodge.
Gladys was married to Edwin Earl Gandy on November 5, 1964 in Wichita, KS. He preceded her in death December 11, 1993.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, one step-daughter Mary Lou Gandy, and 9 siblings.
Surviving are 3 daughters, Deana L Clough, Galena, Leslie A Smith, Galena, and Verna Warren, Haysville; one step-daughter, Sandra K Harvey, State of Florida; 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and one great=great grandchild.
She was entrusted to Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena, KS for cremation.
The family will be scheduling a memorial service at a later date.
