Ricky Applegate, age 65, Baxter Springs, Kansas passed away Monday, March 30, 2020 at Landmark Hospital Joplin, Missouri.
Ricky was born January 15, 1955 in Dover, New Jersey to the late Charles E. Applegate and Mary E. Caskey Applegate.
Ricky worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator and over the years worked for RP Smith & Sons, New Jersey, Fredrich Derr, Sarasota, Florida, and Muschlitz Excavating, Pennsylvania. Ricky enjoyed tinkering with cars and fixing things. He loved getting to spend time with his family and grandkids. He will be missed by everyone that knew and loved him.
Ricky married Ida Mae Williams on November 21, 1976 in Wharton, New Jersey. She survives at the home.
In addition to his parents, Ricky was also preceded in death by a daughter, Rachel M. Applegate; two sisters, Margaret Applegate and Barbara Clark; and a brother, David Applegate.
Survivors include his children, Ricky Applegate Jr., Charles E. Applegate, Melissa A. Johnson; eighteen grandchildren; one great grandchild; several nieces, nephews, extended family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
