Betty Lou Scott, age 92, passed away at 5:37 am, Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at Healthcare Resort of Kansas City following an illness.
Betty was born March 5, 1926 in Galena, KS. Her parents were John and Mary (Spellman) Swaim. She had lived here all of her life.
She and her husband owned and operated Skip Scott Acres. Betty was a member of Lowell Friends Church, Lowell, KS. She enjoyed bowling and going to the YMCA.
She was married to Richard “Skip” Scott on March 9, 1943 in Joplin, MO. He passed away March 18, 2013. She was also preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters.
Surviving is one son, Gary Wayne Scott, Baxter Springs, KS; two daughters, Sharon Anne Ulery (husband, Don) Paola, KS and Cathy Lou Thomas (husband, Larry), Lane, KS; 8 grandchildren,16 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 noon on Friday, December 14, 2018 at Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena, KS. Pastor Jeff Adams will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Baxter Springs, KS.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 –12:00 pm, Friday December 14, 2018 at the funeral home.
