Betty Balma

Betty Joan Baima, 91, of Frontenac, passed away at 11:17 p.m. Saturday, December 8, 2018 at the Medicalodge of Frontenac.

She was born April 28, 1927 at Arcadia, Kansas, the daughter of George Washington and Ruth Bartlett (Thayer). She graduated from Arcadia High School.

On December 2, 1946, she was united in marriage to Joe Baima at Girard, Kansas. He preceded her in death on March 19, 2005.

Mrs. Baima worked for the Census Bureau for twelve years. She then went to work for Redmond Accounting for 2 years before retiring.

Membership was held in the Arcadia Christian Church and the Order of Eastern Star.

Survivors include a son, Terry J. Baima and his wife, Debby of Frontenac, Kansas; two grandsons, Michael J. Baima and Kenneth A. Baima; 5 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two sisters, Cleo Scott and June Fowler.

A Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday (Dec. 12) at Sheffield Cemetery, near Arcadia with Bobby Winters officiating. Burial will follow. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Tuesday to sign the register at the Brenner Mortuary. The family suggests memorials to the Arcadia Christian Church.
