Junella Manues

Junella F. Manues, 83, of Parsons, passed away at 6:30 a.m., Monday, December 10, 2018 at the Elmhaven East Nursing Home in Parsons where she has resided the last several years.

She was born on June 9, 1935 at Dallas, Texas to Vernor and Susan Myrtle (Nessmith) Mitchel. The family moved to Avondale, Arizona where she grew up and attended school graduating from high school at Avondale. She moved to nearby Phoenix where she attended college.

Junella and Lynwood Antone Manues were married on December 31, 1952 at Avondale. He preceded her in death on January 19, 2010.

She worked at the Motorola Corporation while she lived in Phoenix. She moved to Stuttgart, Arkansas in the early 1970’s and moved to Parsons in 1980. After moving to Parsons she worked at the Parsons Presbyterian Manor where she was a certified nurses aide. She later retired from the Presbyterian Manor.

She enjoyed researching her family genealogy, writing, singing, listening to music, cooking, and going to yard sales. She was very involved in helping raise her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Junella is survived by her son, Rickey Manues of Parsons; eight grandchildren, Michell Carson, Shawna Manues, Tina Butler, Kerrie Robison, Meagan Larson, Brandy Manues, Kalen McRay, and Kayla Manues; many great-grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a son, Barton Manues; her daughter, Judy Manues; three great-grandchildren, Braydon Lee Manues, Courtlynn Jaycee Carson, and Kaydence Joslynn Myers; two brothers, Herman “Hamm” Coleman and Romey “Skeet” Coleman; her sister, Christine Mitchel.

The family will conduct a memorial service at 3 p.m., Friday, December 14, 2018 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Parsons. Online condolences may be left at www.wallfuneralservices.com.
