Dan Mills, 73, of Parsons, died at his home Thursday morning, December 20, 2018.
Dan was born to Helen (Loveland) and Jewett Tyler Mills on April 11, 1945 in Springfield, MO. On August 7, 1965, he was married to Joanne Rose of Rockford, IL. Soon after, Dan joined the United States Air Force where he proudly served four years.
Dan was a long time employee of Eclipse Combustion in Rockford. 17 years ago he took his expertise to Parsons Power Flame, where he led as the vice-president of manufacturing.
Dan was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association, Masonic Lodge E.F.W., Ellis Lodge # 0633 in Rockford and was a citizen of the Cherokee Nation. He was not only an avid golfer and gun enthusiast, but a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Survivors include his two daughters, Michelle Whitcomb (Douglas) of O’Fallon, MO and Meloney Meissen of Altamont; his father, Jewett Mills of Bartlesville, OK; grandchildren, Kristine Weaver, Brandon Meissen, Jonathan Meissen, Zach Whitcomb and Stephanie Meissen; three great-grandchildren and one to be born soon.
Dan is preceded in death by his wife, Joanne (2004) and his mother Helen (2011).
