Yolanda S. Martinez, 60, of Parsons, died at 5:24 p.m., Thursday, December 20, 2018 at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas.
She was born December 2, 1958 in Parsons to Richard and Phyllis (Curtis) Martinez. She grew up in Parsons and attended Parsons Schools.
Yolanda had worked at Day and Zimmerman, Dwayne’s Photo and various other places.
She was well known for her good cooking, dancing and telling funny stories. Yolanda also enjoyed visiting her family in Tulsa and taking long drives around lakes with her family and friends.
Survivors include her daughter, Linsey Cleaveland (Billy Scott) of Parsons; grandchildren, Khalell Martinez and Kaedyn Martinez both of Olathe, Jayla Titus of Parsons; daughter-in-law, Tara Martinez of Olathe; her father, Richard Martinez of Parsons; her mother and step-father, Phyllis and Len Trokey of Parsons; two brothers, John Martinez, and his wife, Shannon of Topeka, Rick Martinez and his wife, Toni of Parsons; sister, Teresa “Teri” Martinez of Fort Worth, Texas; nieces and nephews, Brynn Martinez, Darcie Martinez, Johnna Martinez Amy Kay, Taylor Montgomery, Reece Montgomery, Trey Martinez, Emma Martinez, Josh Robertson, Nick Robertson and Kyrstie Robertson; two uncles, Rudy Martinez, and his wife, Lucy of Tulsa, Manuel Martinez, and his wife, Erma of Coffeyville; aunt, Dolores Roldan of Independence.
She was preceded in death by her son, Travis Martinez in 2013 and a sister, Christina Young in 2011; and several aunts and uncles.
Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, December 28, 2018 at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Parsons with Angie Knight officiating. The rosary will be prayed by Fr. Curtis Robertson at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, December 27 with visitation following at the funeral home.
