Cookie Buchanan

Agnes “Cookie” Buchanan, 75, of Pittsburg, KS, passed away at 12:09 a.m., Thursday, December 14, 2017, at her residence. 

She was born October 14, 1942, at Arma, KS, the daughter of Desire and Mary (Mikrut) Falliaux. She attended Arma and Pittsburg Schools and graduated from Pittsburg High School in 1960. She resided in the area her entire life. 

On September 15, 1962, she was united in marriage to Robert Buchanan at Pittsburg, KS. He survives of the home. Mrs. Buchanan worked many years at Joe's Café and later was a daycare owner/operator. 

In addition to her husband, she is survived by, one son Bob Buchanan and his wife, Becky of McCune, KS, one granddaughter, Norma Buchanan and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, six sisters, Mary "Mootsie" Jones, Geraldine "Gerry" Beasley, Beverly Morgan, Alberta "Susie" Stotts, Caroline "Dodie" Bookout and Pauline "Lady Paul" Martinous, and an infant brother. The family would like to thank Krystal Page and family for their help in her care for the past six months. 

A graveside service is set for 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 20, 2017, at the Crocker Cemetery, Pittsburg, with Kelly Klubak conducting the service. Friends are requested to meet at the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 19, at the Brenner Mortuary. Friends may call at the funeral home after 10:00 a.m., Tuesday to sign the register book. The family suggests memorials to the Ronald McDonald House. These may be left at or mailed to the Brenner Mortuary, 114 E. 4th St., Pittsburg, KS 66762. Friends may leave condolences online at www.brennermortuary.com.
