Vic Malson

Victor F. “Vic” Malson, 78, of Parsons, passed away at 5:23 p.m., Saturday, February 22, 2020 at Labette Health in Parsons. He was born on August 21, 1941 in Ft. Scott to Charley and Lucile (George) Malson. Vic Graduated from Great Bend High School in 1959.

He served in the United States Navy from 1962 until retiring as a Chief Petty Officer in 1982. He later worked at Labette Community College as Director of Facilities and Maintenance and most recently as the manager of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No 704.

Vic was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No 704 and had served as a local and district commander. He also had been active in the honor guard and participated in many of the ceremonies.

He enjoyed his grandchildren, watching his grandson, Jaden’s wrestling matches, fishing with his daughter and grandchildren, watching rodeos, woodworking, and pheasant and duck hunting.







Survivors include his daughter, Ann Malson-Heady, and her husband, Clete of Parsons; two grandsons, Jaden Malson and Hunter Heady; three daughters, Terri Jean, Kelli Lynn and Kimberly Francis; many nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Hollis Norman Maslon, Charles George Malson and Vincent Edward Malson (Vic’s Twin); two sisters, Norma Lee Spear and Virginia Lucile Schnichels.

A memorial service will be at 3:00 p.m., Sunday at the VFW Post No 704. Memorials are suggested to help defray expenses. Online condolences may be left at www.wallfuneralservices.com.
