Ruth Hall passed away February 16, 2020 at 6:43 PM at Advent Health Hospital in Shawnee Mission, Kansas after a hard-fought battle with cancer.
Ruth was born on August 11, 1955 to her parents Ray and Betty McBride of Columbus.
She and William “Mike” Hall were united in marriage on July 9, 1982 in Columbus. They made their home in Olathe, KS.
One child, Matthew Thomas Hall, was born of this union. She also has two step-children: a daughter, Tracy Hall-Turner (husband, Robert), and a son, Adam Hall, both of Orlando, FL; as well as three step-grandchildren, Brent, Seth, and Maggie McConell.
In addition, she is survived by her mother, Betty McBride; a brother, Wesley McBride (wife, Pam) of Sherman, TX; two nieces, Kimberly and Jennifer; sister-in-law Jane Ann Sarwinski (husband, Jim) of Columbus; brother-in-law, Joe Hall (wife, Billie) of Columbus; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ray McBride; and her mother and father-in-law, Waldo and Betty Hall.
She was employed by the Olathe School System with enrollment of over 29,000 students for 28 years. During her early employment, she established the school district IT Help Desk. At that time, she was a classified training and user provisioning specialist. At the time of her death, she was classified as a Microsoft Support Technician.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 21, 2020 at 10:00 AM at St. Rose Church in Columbus, KS with Father Jeremy Huser as celebrant. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Columbus.
Rosary will be recited on February 20, 2020 at 6:00 pm at Derfelt Funeral Home of Columbus. The family will receive friends following the rosary until 8:00 PM.
