Bobby Ford

Bobby D. Ford, 83, of Parsons, died at 7:41 A.M., Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at Labette Health.

He was born June 18, 1936 in Eagle Grove, IA, a son of Fredrick and Juanita (Holzer) Ford. He grew up in Eagle Grove and attended school there, graduating from the Eagle Grove High School in 1954. He was employed at the Fareway grocery store and drove a truck for the former Umthum Trucking. Later, he moved to Boca Raton, FL and worked as a supervisor at the Boca Raton Hotel and Club for twenty years. He retired and moved to Parsons on December 16, 1996.

He was a coin collector and volunteered with Meals on Wheels. He also enjoyed walking his dogs.








Survivors include: one son – Bradley Ford, and his wife, Lisa, Kernersville, NC; three daughters – Jennifer Sanborn-Harper, and her husband, Ross, Parsons, KS, Pamella “Pam” Ford, and her husband, John Hayden, Boston, MA, Christine Gavin, and her husband, Todd, Manchester, IA; eleven grandchildren – Caitlyn Hayden, Boston, MA, Nicholas Sanborn, Parsons, KS, Chase Sanborn, Parsons, KS, Emma Harper, Parsons, KS, Brody Gavin, Manchester, IA, Bailey Gavin, Manchester, IA, Ben Gavin, Champaign, IL, Christopher Ford, NC, Joey Ford, NC, Brandon Ford, NC, Micah Tiblier, NC; three great-grandchildren; one brother – Eugene Ford, Grand Junction, CO; one sister – Louise Peak, Parsons, KS.

He was preceded in death by three brothers – Ted Ford, George Ford and Dale Ford; and one sister – Emma Thelda Ford, who died as a child.
