Barbara Jeffrey

Barbara Jean Jeffrey, age 71, passed away surrounded by her loved ones at 5:46 pm, Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Mercy Hospital, Joplin, MO following an illness.

Barbara was born October 30, 1948 in Baxter Springs, Kansas. Her parents were William and Betty Jo (Wood) Little. She had lived in McCune the past 21 years. She previously had lived in Columbus, Elk City, and Franklin Kansas.

She graduated from Cherokee County Rural High School, Columbus, with the class of 1966. She had worked at National Mills, Pittsburg, and Payless Shoes, Columbus. She had also operated a ceramics shop. She was a member of First Baptist church, Crestline, KS and was a contributor to Find A Grave.com. She enjoyed working on crafts, but her greatest pastime was spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids.

Barbara was married to John Jeffrey on August 3, 1968 in Columbus, KS. He survives.








Additional survivors include one son, Johnny Shane Jeffrey (Kim), Pittsburg, KS; one daughter Shana Lynette Stone and husband Tony, Mulberry, KS, adopted son Jeff Hardwick; three sisters, Betty Burton, Columbus, Judy Smith, Columbus, and Linda Duree, Baxter Springs; 7 grandchildren. Brandi Dohle, Shelbye Fish, Erik Stone, Devan Stone, Amanda Williams, Bobby “Christopher” Tynan and Jessy Hardwick; and 9 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by father, William Lee Little Sr.; mother, Betty Joe (Little) Crabtree, sister, Wanda Lea Andrews, and three brothers, William Lee Little Jr., Bobby Gene Little, Jimmie Joe Little.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm, Saturday, February 15, 2020 at Derfelt Funeral Home, Columbus, KS.

A memorial service will be at 2:00 pm, Saturday, February 22, 2020 at First Baptist Church, Crestline, KS. Pastor Paul Duncan will officiate.
