Shirley Ann Scheer, 81 of Baxter Springs, KS passed from this life on Friday, February 14, 2020 at Freeman Hospital, Joplin, MO.
Shirley was born July 5, 1938 in Washington D.C. to the union of Stuart and Laura Marie (Shaw) Hollar.
She was united in marriage to Robert Scheer on April 13, 1967 in Chesterfield, MI, where they lived for 40 years. Shirley worked for the warranty administration for Ford Motor Co. Shirley enjoyed playing horse shoes and bowling with Bob. She liked taking trips to Las Vegas and cheering on her favorite Washington Redskins.
Shirley is preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Ricky Drawbaugh; sister, Audrey Casear and husband Charles; brothers-in-law, Michael Devers and James Scheer.
Shirley is survived by son, Michael Drawbaugh of Florida;daughter, Lisa Marie Mercer and husband Ray of Baxter Springs;brother, Robert Hollar and wife Sharon of the Carolina’s; sister, Beverly Devers of Virginia; two grandchildren, Justin Slavens of the home, and Lilli Slavens of Baxter Springs, KS; Children’s father, Mike Slavens and wife Tracy; two step-grandchildren, Brelee Mercer, and Brittany Mercer and her son, Hunter; two great grandchildren, Gabbi and Crimson; sisters-in-law, Neva Scheer and Carrol Kraft; brother-in-law, Bill Scheer.
Shirley has been entrusted to Derfelt’s Baxter Chapel for cremation. Memorial services will be planned at a later date in Michigan. Online condolences may be expressed at www.derfeltfuneralhomes.com.
