Ronald Sheddrick

Ronald William Sheddrick went on to be with his Savior our Lord Jesus Christ on October 26, 2019 at Landmark Hospital in Joplin, MO. Ron was born on June 6, 1940 in Rich Hill, MO to Wilma and Donald Sheddrick. He moved to Oswego, KS as a young child. Ron graduated from Oswego High School in 1958 and Parsons Junior College in 1960. He married Chris Cox on November 19, 1961 in Parsons, KS.

Ron was drafted into the Army in 1962 and served until 1964. He worked at First National Bank in Oswego, KS from 1969 to 1987. Ron helped startup Community National Bank and Trust in Chanute, Kansas in 1987. He continued working there until his death. Ron and Chris returned to Oswego, KS in 2007 to be close to their children and grandchildren.








He is survived by his wife Chris of 58 years; daughter Keren Lowenstein and friend Kathi Murphy; son Kevin Sheddrick and wife Rochelle Sheddrick; grandchildren Drake, Madison, and Ryann Sheddrick; and sister Linda White and husband Charles White. Ron was a member of the First Baptist Church in Oswego, KS. He also served the church as a Sunday school teacher and Deacon.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents Wilma and Donald Sheddrick, niece Erin White, aunts Elizabeth (Betty) Motsinger, Dorothy Hedges, Pauline Sheddrick and Dorthea (Dot) Eastland, uncles James Hedges, James Sheddrick, and Myron (Bud) Sheddrick, grandparents Myrtle and Louis Sheddrick, and cousins Jerry Eastland, Sue Vance, Mark Motsinger, Phillip Sheddrick and Billy Paul Hedges.

Community National Bank and Trust in Chanute, KS has established a scholarship endowment fund at Oswego High School in honor of Ron. A memorial has been established at First Baptist Church in Oswego, KS.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday November 1, 2019 at First Baptist Church in Oswego, Kansas, burial will follow at Oswego Cemetery. Family visitation night will be on Thursday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Derfelt Funeral Home in Oswego, Kansas. Online condolences can be made at www.derfeltfuneralhomes.com.
