Kathryn Marie Queen, age 67, passed away at 6:18 pm Saturday, October 19, 2019 at her home following an illness.
Mrs Queen was born February 6, 1952 in Caldwell, Kansas. Her parents were Roylance John Frank Sr and Doris Ruth (Berge) Frank. She was a Kansas resident most of her life.
She was a homemaker, and had worked with children in daycare. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, Parsons, KS. She loved going to country music concerts and casinos, spending time with her family, playing board games and taking care of her grandchildren. She enjoyed sitting down with a good book and reading poetry.
Kathryn was married to Ivan Eugene Queen Sr on February 8, 1969 in Carthage, MO He survives.
Additional survivors include three children, Ivan E Queen Jr (wife, Donna), Robert L Queen Sr (wife, Pam) and John L Queen (companion Rhonda James); one sister, Deborah Mertens; 9 brothers, Gene Engstrand, Jerry Engstrand, Rodney Engstrand, Roylance “Sonny” Frank, Edward Frank, Richard “Dick” Frank, Gary Frank, Terrance “Pete” Frank, and Jeff Frank; 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Roylance Frank Sr, her mother Doris Weeks, and one brother, Charles Frank.
Kathryn was entrusted to Derfelt Funeral Home, Oswego, KS for cremation.
The family invites her friends to meet with them from 1:00 -4:00 pm, Saturday, November 9, 2019 at the Parsons Municipal Building basement to celebrate her life. Pastor Christie Walker will officiate.
