Linda Box

Linda R. Box, age 65, passed away on October 12, 2019 at Galena Nursing Center, Galena, Kansas, after being admitted there that evening.

Linda (Myers) Box was born October 26, 1953, the daughter of Harry and Ruth (Armstrong) Myers, who both preceded her in death. Linda had no siblings. Linda lived her entire life in Cherokee County, Kansas. She attended a one room school house (Mitchell School), where her mother taught. She graduated from Columbus Unified High School with the Class of 1971.

Linda married Roger Box; they later divorced. 

She is survived by one son: RB Box (wife Christy); grandchildren: Tyler J. Box, Matthew J. Box, Addison R. Box, and Ethan J. Box, all from Colorado Springs, Colorado. She is also survived by her life partner Rick J, Moore of the home, and long term friend Teresa Amos. She loved her four legged fur babies like no other. Linda battled cancer starting in 2000, and fought it again starting in 2012. Linda was a very special soul and touched many people throughout her care at Mercy Cancer Center, for most of 20 years.

The family will host a Celebration of Life service at Park Cemetery, Thursday, October 17, 2019, at 2:00 PM. 

Cremation arrangements are being handled by Derfelt Funeral Home in Columbus.
