Gloria Oertle

Gloria Geraldine Oertle, 92, of Pittsburg, KS, passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2019, at her residence.

She was born December 17, 1926, in Cherryvale, KS, to Preston and Opal (Crippen) Gurss.

On March 3, 1946, she was united in marriage to Charles E. Oertle Jr.

Gloria worked in Washington D.C. during WWII and retired from the Census Bureau in Pittsburg, KS. She and her husband owned the Pla-Mor Smoke House.

She was an avid bridge player, and enjoyed reading and gardening.








She is survived by three daughters, Pamela Casey of Murphy, NC, Debbie Bittner of Saint Petersburg, FL, Reenee Cochran of Bel Air, MD, and a son, Brent Oertle of Pittsburg, KS; two sisters, Joyce Cottrel of Tulsa, OK, and Sharon Young of Topeka, KS; four grandchildren, Lindsi Perez, Tyler Bittner, Kelsey Cochran, and Kaden Cochran; and two great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and a grandson, Zachary Casey.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 PM, Thursday, October 17, 2019, at Lamplighter Inn. The family suggests memorials be given to Angels Among Us. These may be left at or mailed to the Brenner Mortuary.
