Cotton Lunderman

Paul David “Cotton” Lunderman, Sr. age 89, passed away at 12:04 am, Wednesday, October 23, 2019 surrounded by his family at his home following an illness.

Cotton was born August 16, 1930 in Sarcoxie, MO. His parents were Ora James and Mary Lenora (Hinds) Lunderman. He had lived in Galena since 1957, moving from Sarcoxie, MO.

He graduated from Sarcoxie High School with the class of 1948. He entered the U S Air Corps in 1948 and after one year, he was recalled into service during the Korean War serving until 1953. He worked several years as a machinist at Vickers, Joplin, MO retiring in 1988. He was also a self-employed Rancher/Farmer.

Paul was a member of Celebration Baptist Church, Joplin, MO. His favorite pastime was working with his cattle herd.

He was married to Pansy M Burkey on October 5, 1950 at Fairfield, CA. She survives.
Additional survivors include 3 daughters, Konnie Collinsworth (Larry), Baxter Springs, KS, Marsha Shellabarger (Paul), Grove, OK, and Leigh Ann Barton (Gordon), Tulsa, OK; two sons, Paul David “PD” Lunderman Jr, (Cathy) Grove, OK and Dennis Lunderman, Wichita, KS; one sister, Donna Humphry (Bud), Miami, OK; 10 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Orabelle Triplett.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm, Monday, October 28, 2019 at Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena, KS. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Galena, KS.
