Patrick “Pat” Strait, 71, life-long Parsons resident, died at 12:30 A.M., Monday, February 11, 2019 at the Presbyterian Manor.
He was born November 25, 1947 at Joplin, MO, a son of Henry Owen and Anna Letha (Burke) Strait. He grew up at rural Parsons and attended Altamont schools. After completing high school he worked as an over the-road truck driver for many years. He later worked at Dayton-Superior and later was a supervisor at Daylight Donut Shop for fifteen years, retiring in 2018.
On June 22, 1979 he was united in marriage to Jan Steimel at Miami, OK. They later divorced.
He was a member of Elks Lodge No. 527 at Parsons. He enjoyed playing pool.
Survivors include: one daughter – Morgan Marie Strait, Pittsburg, KS; one son – Eric Patrick Strait, Parsons, KS; one grandson – Owen Harrison Strait, Parsons, KS; two sisters – Vickie Price, Independence, MO, Debra Shannon, McCune, KS. He was preceded in death by one brother – Jerry Strait.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 Friday, February 15, 2019 at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home with Jeff Owen officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 8:00 Thursday evening at the funeral home.
