Joan Eunice Wilbert 88, of Pittsburg, KS passed away peacefully 11:22am Wednesday February 20, 2019 at the Freeman Hospital in Joplin, MO following an illness.
Joan was born June 29, 1930 in Pittsburg, KS the daughter of Merle O. and Zula Eunice (McKee) Buckley. Joan enjoyed a long career in retail family businesses in Pittsburg, KS. Joan married Melvin Francis Wilbert on April 13, 1949 at the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Pittsburg, KS; he preceded her in death on June 2, 2008. Joan loved to work and meet people. It was said she could visit with anyone. Joan was loved by many. She enjoyed traveling and music in retirement.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents and sister Carolyn Buche.
Joan is survived by her children Dan Wilbert and wife Suzi and Linda Friend and husband Abdon; 6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and special friend Chuck Mallams.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30am Saturday February 23, 2019 at the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Fr. Jerome Spexarth as celebrant. Rosary will be recited at the church at 10:00am prior to the service at the church. Family will receive friends at the church at 9:30am prior to services.
In lieu of flowers the family asks expressions of sympathy to be in the form of memorials to the Our Lady of Lourdes Altar Society. Friends may drop off or mail memorials to Bath-Naylor Funeral Home 522 S. Broadway Pittsburg, KS 66762. Condolences may be left atwww.bathnaylor.com.
