Betty Monohon

Betty R. Monohon, 87, of Pittsburg, KS, passed away at 12:08 a.m., Tuesday, February 26, 2019, at the Via Christi Hospital.

She was born December 9, 1931, at Ottumwa, IA, the daughter of Stanley and Hildred (Jones) Brown.

Betty was united in marriage to Eugene L. Monohon in July of 1946. He preceded her in death on October 31, 2008.

Mrs. Monohon was a homemaker.

She was a former member of the Liberty Bible Baptist Church, Pittsburg.







Survivors include two sons, Dewayne Monohon of Pittsburg, KS, Ronald Monohon of Pittsburg, KS; two daughters, Diane Redd of Pittsburg, KS, and Cathy Reese of Hume, MO; three brothers, Beryle Brown of Cedar Rapids, IA, Larry Brown of Ottumwa, IA, Jerry Brown of Des Moines, IA, a sister, Pat Parks of Des Moines, IA; and numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and four sons, Gerald Monohon, Leroy Monohon, Dennis Monohon and David Monohon, one daughter, Debbie Monohon, twin siblings Jackie and Jacqueline; two brothers, Meryle Brown, Richard Brown and a sister, Marilyn Wilkins.








A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. The family suggests memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association. These may be left at or mailed to the Brenner Mortuary, 114 East 4th St., Pittsburg, KS 66762. Friends may leave condolences online at www.brennermortuary.com. Arrangements are under the direction of the Brenner Mortuary, Pittsburg, KS.
