Tom Kennedy

Thomas William Kennedy, 71, of Hepler, Kansas passed away at 10:54 p.m., May 6, 2020 at the Wesley Medical Center of Wichita, Kansas.

Tom was born November 28, 1948 in Joliet, Illinois a son of LaVern and Florence (Mason) Kennedy.
He attended grade school in Braceville, Illinois, graduating from Gardner-South Wilmington High School, Gardner, Illinois.

On March 30, 1974, Tom and Chris Begeman were united in marriage in Lockport, Illinois, she survives of the home.

He served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Vietnam conflict.
Tom was employed by Caterpillar Tractor for 10 years in Illinois. After moving to Kansas, he worked doing various side jobs, Grotheer Dairy of Uniontown and retired from Beezley Dairy of Girard.

He was a member of the Braceville Methodist Church and the Ruritan of Hepler.








Survivors in addition to his wife include three daughters; Jenny Kennedy of Hepler, Mandy Kennedy of Elkhorn Nebraska, Sammi Kirby and her husband D.J. of Hepler; three brothers, Don Kennedy, Kenn (Patti) Kennedy, Lawrence (Linda) Kennedy; two sisters, DeeAnn Neilsen, Shirley Kennedy, and three grandchildren, Hannah, Jenna and Eldon Hughes along with numerous other family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, William Kennedy.

Private graveside services for Thomas William Kennedy will be held on Friday at the Hepler Cemetery with Pastor Chuck Harris officiating. Military honors will be given by the George C. Brown Post #26 of the American Legion.

Those wishing to sign the register book are invited to do so after 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 14, 2020 at the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home of Girard.
