Tricia Boyes

Tricia Paige (Houser) Boyes, age 49 of Columbus, passed away at The University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, KS at 9:23 AM on Saturday, June 29, 2019.

Tricia was born in Sumter, South Carolina on March 26, 1970 to the union of Raymond “Dutch” Dale Houser and Joan (Pate) Houser. She spent most of her childhood in Slidell, LA, but after both of her parents passed away, she moved to Columbus, KS in 1985 at the age of 15, where she was then raised by her aunt and uncle, David Houser (now deceased), and Gail Houser.

Tricia attended Columbus Schools, graduating with the class of 1988. She later attended Labette Community College, earning an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education. With that degree, she worked as the Co-Director of the Good Shepherd Daycare, operated by First Christian Church of Columbus, which is the church that she held her membership at since moving to Columbus in 1985. Tricia loved being at home, especially when her grandkids were able to visit her. She was also very active in the community in working with teenagers, volunteering with various organizations, and even helping to co-found a Breast Cancer Support Group.







She was united in marriage with Jason Ryan Boyes on February 14, 2010 at the First Christian Church in Columbus. He survives.

Additinoal survivors include her children, Cortney Crain (husband, Zachary) of Columbus, Corbin Stanley of Columbus, Cassie Johnson (husband, Trent) of Knoxville, TN, Colten Stanley of Overland Park, KS, Sydney Stanley of the home, and Saylor Stanley of the home; one brother, Kirk Davis (wife, Joye) of Hartsville, SC; two sisters, Tara Houser of Columbus, and Shay Jacobs of Hampton, GA, three grandchildren, Gracie Stanley, Colt Crain, and Knox Crain; as well as several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Dutch and Joan, her grandparents; and several aunts and uncles.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at the First Christian Church in Columbus. Pastors John Warren and Roger Beason will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to the Good Shepherd Daycare Center at the First Christian Church. Burial will take place at Greenlawn Cemetery with a private family ceremony at a later date.
