Nancy Tiede

Nancy Sue Tiede, 62, rural Erie, died at 3:12 p.m., Thursday, July 18, 2019 at her home. Death was unexpected.

She was born July 16, 1957, at Great Bend, to Herbert F. and Lavina C. (Hoffman) Carrier. She grew up there and graduated from Great Bend High School in 1975.

Her first marriage was to Paul Mendoza and they lived in Hutchinson. After their divorce in 1983 she returned to Great Bend and on November 24, 1984 married Bruce Alan Tiede and moved to Parsons. In Parsons she worked at Friendly’s, Power Flame and Lee’s Heating & Air-Conditioning before starting employment at the Parsons State Hospital and Training Center, working in the payroll and accounting department and the clothing department for 28 years.

Nancy was an avid quilter and a member of the Parsons Quilters Guild. She attended a quilt show in Paducah, Kentucky every year with a group of quilting buddies.








In July of 2004 Bruce and Nancy renewed their vows in Las Vegas, Nevada, amongst the shining lights that she enjoyed so much. Bruce survives of the home. Other survivors are two sons, Matthew Mendoza of Leavenworth and Jonathan Mendoza (Jessica) of Bella Vista, AR,; five grandchildren, Jesse Mendoza of Salina, Joseph Mendoza or rural Parsons, Isabelle Mendoza, Zachary Mendoza and Ryker Mendoza, all of Bella Vista, AR; a great-granddaughter, Nova Mendoza of Salina; two brothers, David Carrier of rural Great Bend and Tom Carrier of Mustang, OK and a sister Vickie Brown of rural Great Bend.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m., Monday, at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home, with Rev. Vernon Norris officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday.
