Darrell Gene Ludwig, age 61 passed away at 3:45am Monday, December 9, 2019 in Columbus, KS following an illness.
Darrell was born January 31, 1958 in Baxter Springs, KS. His parents were Ira Louis and Vona Marie (Hendrix) Ludwig. He had lived in the Baxter Springs area most of his life with the exception of living 20 years in Utah, Idaho and Montana.
He was a carpenter by trade and had been a member of the carpenters union at one time. Among his interests and pastimes were working on cars and motorcycles, hunting and fishing. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior November 30 of this year.
Surviving are two sons Ryan Ludwig, Boise, ID and Keith Ludwig, Salt Lake City, UT; four daughters, Darylann Halter, Bountiful, UT, Andrea Lofgran, Kalispell, MT, Amber Ludwig, Boise, ID and Erin Haney, Boise, ID; two brothers, David Hamrick, El Paso, TX and Dewayne Ludwig, Chetopa, KS; seven sisters, Twila Stone, Mt Vernon, MO, Charlotte Snyder, Springfield, MO, Marcia Roberts, Springfield, MO, Becky Grant, Albuquerque, NM, Brenda Marcott, Riverton, KS, Glenda Soucy, Columbus, KS, and Penny Ludwig, Caney, KS; 13 grandchildren, and his close friend, Pat Andrews, Galena, KS.
Darrell was entrusted to Derfelt Funeral Home for cremation. A memorial service will be at 11:00 am, Friday, December 13, 2019 at Derfelt’s Baxter Chapel, Baxter Springs, KS. Pastor Brian Wagahoff will officiate.
