Connie Watkins

Connie Lee Madison-Watkins, 74, of Erie, went to be with the Lord at 12:00 P.M., Sunday, December 15, 2019 in her home at Erie, surrounded by her family.

Connie was born August 27, 1945 at Lawrence, KS, a daughter of Harold Eugene and Ruth Adaline (Anderson) Richards.

Her family moved to Humboldt, KS at an early age and she attended school there, graduating from the Humboldt High School in 1963. She moved to Texas in the early 1970’s and had a long career in banking before becoming the owner of Curves for Women. In 2012 she moved to Erie.

She was united in marriage to Dale Howard in 1963 and they had one daughter, Michelle Louise. She later married Mike Watkins in 2013. He survives of the home.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church at Humboldt. She loved her family, animals and enjoyed life.








In addition to her husband, survivors include: one daughter and son in-law – Michelle and Mike Stein, Erie, KS; one step-daughter – Elysia Watkins, Minnesota; one brother – Buck Richards, Erie, KS; three sisters and brothers in-law – Sherry and Tim Mitchell, Chanute, KS, Colleen and Butch Krout, Casper, WY, Teri and Rusty Robison, Chanute, KS; one sister in-law – Cindy Ashlock, Erie, KS; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and great-nephews. Preceding her in death were her grandparents, parents and two brothers.

A celebration of life will be held at 4:00 P.M., Sunday, December 22, 2019 at Horizons at Prairie Ridge with Butch Krout officiating. Memorials are suggested to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice of Parsons and may be left at the service or mailed to the Pierce-Carson-Wall Funeral Home, P.O. Box 182, Erie Kansas.
