Gracie Hobbs

Gracie A Hobbs, age 77, passed away at 12:15 am, Monday, January 22, 2018 at Communities of the Wildwood Ranch, Joplin, MO following an illness.

Gracie was born October 26, 1940 in Brownington, MO. Her parents were Kenneth Guy and Edith Alma (Graebell) Wilson. She had lived in Riverton since 1999 moving from Pittsburg, KS.

She was a member of Tennessee Prairie Friends Church, Galena, KS. She enjoyed bowling, loved to read and tend to her flower garden.

She was married to George Edward Hartshorn on Dec 1, 1956. He preceded her in death Jan 20, 1993. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Eugene Wilson.

On June 10, 1995 she married Merle Hobbs in Galena, KS. He survives.

Additional survivors include two sons, Raymond Hartshorn, Riverton, and Donald Kenneth Hartshorn (wife, Barbara Joann) Quapaw, OK; two daughters, Lynda Beyer (husband, Harry), Baxter Springs, KS, and Debra Lyn Eichelberger (husband, Ronnie) Riverton: two step-daughters, Brenda Dee Caruthers, Baxter Springs, and Sandra Dee Nadeau, Miami, OK; 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was entrusted to Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena, KS for cremation.

A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, January 26, 2018 at Tennessee Prairie Friends Church, Galena, KS. Pastors Dave and Mary Robinson will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warriors in care of the funeral home.
