Gary Wayne Barnett was born on May 15, 1952 in Johnson City, New York. He is a Vietnam combat Vet – Special Forces and served in the US Navy Ceremonial Guard in Washington, D.C.
He completed his missions here on earth and passed to greater glory on December 31, 2017, surrounded by family in his Galena, KS home.
Gary will be greatly missed by his family: wife and best friend of 25 years, Sherry Adams Barnett, granddaughter Andrea Rose Dillinger, and daddy’s little girl – Lally, all of the home; children, Andrew, Douglas, and Brent Dillinger, Chanda and Ken Arnold; grandchildren, Bryce, Dylan, Ciara Arnold; Jonathan, Patrick, Timothy, Wesley and Sarah Dillinger.
Relatives and close friends; Denny and Teresa Barnett, Michael and Staci Adams, Lester Adams, “Mom” Doris Adams Scott, Andrea and Joe Booth, Uncle Butch and Aunt Sadie, Jesse Adams, Tiffany Barnett, Tommy, Greg, Eric and numerous nephews and nieces.
We love you Gary – You are our Superhero!
Funeral services will be at 4:00 pm, Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena, KS. Chaplain Mike Graham will officiate. He will be laid to rest at Lowell Cemetery, Lowell KS at a later date.
