Brenda Marshall

Brenda Joyce Marshall, age 56 of rural Galena, passed away at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, MO at 5:03 PM on Wednesday, January 24, 2018.

Brenda was born in Joplin, MO to Billy J. Wilson and Joyce Faye Underwood on February 19, 1961. She had lived in the State of Tennessee as well as the Kansas City area before coming back home in the late 1990’s. Brenda worked as a home health nurse with the Skill Resoure Center before retiring in 2000 due to health concerns. She attended Church on the Hill, a new church plant north of Galena. She had devoted her life her Savior and His work through the local church, and a large part of her ministry was her time spent visiting with residents at local nursing homes.

She is survived by her mother, Joyce Eacock of Galena; one son, Chris Marshall of Galena; two daughters, Delilah Helton (husband, Justice) of Galena, and Brandi Wilson of Columbus, KS; four brothers, Randy Duncan (wife, Debbie) of Virginia Beach, VA, Jimmy Wilson (wife, Loretta) of Galena, Jeffrey Wilson (wife, Christina) of Kansas City, and William Wilson of South Carolina; two sisters, Linda Williams of Iowa, and Lorna Pence (husband, Danny) of Riverton, KS; as well as five grandchildren, Zoey Youngblood, Kylee Sims, Anthony Stevens, Addison Stevens, and Christopher Andrew Lee-Marshall.

She was preceded in death by her father, Billy J. Wilson; and one brother, Billy Wilson, JR.

Ms. Marshall was entrusted to Derfelt Funeral Home of Galena for cremation. The family will hold a memorial service at a later date. Online condolences may be expressed at www.derfeltfuneralhomes.com.
