Rosemary Schmid

Rosemary Schmid, 89, of Parsons died at 7:55 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at Labette Health.
She was born Aug. 10, 1929, at Parsons to Odie J. and Chrystie M. (Singleton) Klenklen. She grew up in the rural Parsons area and attended Erie High School.

On March 8, 1947, she married Warren Schmid in Oswego. After their marriage they made their home in Parsons. They celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary before his death on March 17, 2011.

She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and its Altar Society.

Rosemary loved reading and traveling. She put other’s needs ahead of hers. Most of all, Rosemary loved all of her family. She prepared a Sunday family meal for many years for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.








Surviving are three sons, Michael Schmid (Rochelle) of El Paso, Texas, Charles Schmid (Kathy) of Fort Worth, Texas, Marty Schmid (Donna) of Parsons; three daughters, Cathy Winans of Olathe, Cheryl Heady (Brett) of Parsons and Lori Nolting (Ray) of Parsons; 14 grandchildren, Brian Schmid (Diana), Angela Gonzalez, Haley Mathieu, Jamie Winans, Carrie VanCampen (Jason), Christie Winans, Douglas Schmid, Stephanie Schmid-Falcon (Cesar), Aaron Heady (Ashley), Tyler Heady (Sara Beth), Mallory Nolting, Samantha Schmid, Keaton Nolting (Olivia) and Tanner Nolting; five stepgrandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren, Kayla Winans, Jaya Johnson, Dane, Ella and Drew Mathieu, Laney, Ashlynn and Luke Schmid, Garrett and Blake VanCampen, Sofie, Sarah and Sammy Gonzalez, Zoe, Braeleigh and Noah Schmid, Owen and Ruby Heady and Miles Nolting; a sister, Georgia Shively of Republic, Missouri; a brother-in-law, Dale Wise of Parsons; and many nieces and nephews, including special nieces Amy Moss and Karla Jones.

She was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters; a daughter-in-law, Candy Schmid; and a grandson, Randy Schmid.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Curtis Robertson officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
The rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. and the family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home.

Memorials are suggested to St. Patrick Catholic School. These may be left at or sent to the funeral home at P.O. Box 942, Parsons, KS, 67357.
