Marilyn was born April 3, 1934 in Grand Island, Nebraska to Harold and Ernestine (Brown) Raymond. The Raymond family moved to Parsons when Marilyn was four years old to start Raymond’s Grocery. At the age of fourteen she joined the Mount St. Mary’s convent and later received her education at St. Mary of the Plains College in Dodge City, KS. She decided that she loved teaching and loved children and she felt her calling was to not continue her path to take her final vow to the church. She continued to teach elementary school in Kansas City and talked often of the wonderful times she had teaching school and living in Kansas City. She worked many years at Labette County Medical Center as a cook and then as a dietician. She was a substitute teacher at St. Patrick School and also ran the Zesto restaurant and barbecue place.
Kenneth and Marilyn were married on November 24, 1956 at St. Francis Xavier Church in Kansas City, MO. They enjoyed their time together in Kansas City and had five children during the late 1950’s and 1960’s.
They were members of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Parsons. Kenneth’s hobbies included hunting, fishing, bowling and working in his shop. Marilyn loved to cook, sew and travel, but most of all she loved her grandchildren.
They are survived by two sons, Ray (Becky) Jacquinot and Steve (Penny) Jacquinot, of Parsons; two daughters, Julie (Kent) Smith, of Concordia, KS and Renee (Russ) Kittrell, of Eugene, OR; grandchildren, Chris Jacquinot, Matt Jacquinot, Andrea Brooks, Greg Smith, Leah Smith, Jacob Jacquinot, Molly Stevenson, Patrick Jacquinot, Emma McDaniel, Ike McDaniel, Alexandra Kittrell, Austin Kittrell and ten great-grandchildren. Their son, Michael Scott Jacquinot preceded them in death on March 1, 1991.
Kenneth is survived by a brother, Bernard Jacquinot, from Overland Park. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Sue Jacquinot and his brothers Joe Gene, Bill, Pat, Leonard Paul and a sister, Marilyn.
