Jerry Cox

Jerry Lee Cox of Miami, OK passed from this life Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at Quaker Hill Nursing Home in Lowell, KS. She was 83.

Jerry was born July 23, 1935 in Picher, OK to Thomas Dorral and Letha Eugenia (Higgins) Landreth. She had lived in Miami for several years moving from Picher, OK. She was a graduate of Picher – Cardin High School Class of 1953. Jerry was a member of the Northwest Baptist Church in Miami, OK and was a volunteer worker for the food pantry at the church. She was member of the Rebekah Lodge Picher and Miami and had worked as an EMT for Picher Fire Department.

Jerry married Chester Cox November 25, 1952 and he preceded her in death in 2008. She was also preceded by her daughter Barbara Kay Nowlin in 1988, her parents, a brother Tom Landreth and a sister Emma Jean Ashe.







Survivors include 3 sons, Chester Lee Cox and wife Cherie of Houston, TX, Jimmy Cox and wife Lisa of Baxter Springs, KS and Mark Cox of Miami, OK, 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday May 20, 2019 at Greenlawn Cemetery in N.W. of Treece, KS. Rev. Michael Knight will officiate. Grandsons, Chad Nowlin, Justin Cox, Joshua Cox, Sean Cox, Jimmy Cox and Clayton Cox will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Paul Thomas Funeral Home Chapel in Miami, OK.
