Hildegard Martin, 87, of Baxter Springs, KS passed from this life on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at Quaker Hill Nursing Home.
Hildegard was born February 11, 1932 in Kaiserslautern, Germany to the union of Karl and Elise (Brunner) Richter. Hildegard moved to Riverton, KS in 1975 to raise her family.
Hildegard loved baking, canning and making big German dinners for her family. She helped raise her grandkids and great grandkids and they brought so much joy to her life. She also loved crocheting and knitting. She always made sure that the new babies had one of her creations. She was also a part of “Warm up America” knitting and crocheting squares to make blankets and scarves for the sick and those in need. Hildegard loved to travel and was most happy when she got to travel back to Germany to visit family.
Hildegard is preceded in death by her parents; son, Karl Otto Martin; daughter-in-law, Kandi Martin; great grandson, Cash Martin.
Hildegard is survived by three children, Corrina Jones and husband Scott of Arlington, TX, Rocky Martin and Trish of Oswego, KS, and Renee Clark and husband Robert of Baxter Springs, KS; six grandchildren, Jeremy VanAuker (Loan), Ressa Roberts, Joshua Jones (Emilie), Caleb Martin (Rikki), Kaelee Martin, Michael Jones (Lindsay); eight great grandkids, Lauren and Sophie VanAuker, Ethan, Johnathan and Eleanor Jones, Rylee Martin, and Zoe Mashburn, and Jodie Howard.
The family invites you to join them at “A Celebration of Life” to be held Saturday, February 1, 2020 at the Riverton Community Building, Riverton, KS from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Hildegard has been entrusted to Derfelt’s Baxter Chapel for cremation.
