Dorothy Rago

Dorothy M. Rago 90, of Baxter Springs, KS passed from this life on Thursday, January 9, 2020 at Via Christi Village, Pittsburg, KS.

Dorothy was born August 15, 1929 Yates Center, Kansas to the union of William and Rose Mae (Clay) Reisbig. Dorothy graduated from high school in Burlington, KS.

She was united in marriage to Frank Rago on June 13, 1952 in Bentonville, AR. Dorothy worked at Murphy’s CafĂ© as a waitress for 28 years, retiring in 2006. Dorothy devoted herself in taking care of her family and friends throughout the entire community.








Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Helen Thresher; brother, Lawrence Reisbig; two great-grandchildren, Shante and Trentan Caton; daughter-in-law, Linda Rago; son-in-law, Jesse Critchell.

Dorothy is survived by five daughters, Janice Critchell of Sagle, ID, Karen Lawson and husband Kenny of Galena, KS, Katrina Fox and husband Chris Cobler of Girard, KS, Aleta Whitely and husband Felix, and Diana McDonald and husband Ricky both of Baxter Springs, KS; two sons, Ronald Rago and Richard Rago both of Baxter Springs, KS; sister, Sherlyn Christensen of Overland Park, KS; sixteen grandchildren, and twenty six great grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews.

Memorial mass will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 17, 2020 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Father Jeremy Huser will officiate. Visitation to follow the mass at the Baxter Springs Community Building. Dorothy has been entrusted to Derfelt’s Baxter Chapel for cremation.
