Antionette Grimmett

Antionette Grimmett, 38, of Parsons, passed away at 5:58 p.m., Thursday, January 16, 2020 at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas.

Antionette was born on July 16, 1981in Parsons to Reba Grimmett and Curtis Lee Harris, Sr. She grew up in Parsons and graduated from Parsons High School in 1999 and later attended Labette Community College taking courses in special education, dietary and later receiving her Certified Nursing Assistant certificate. 

Antionette had previously worked for several years in home health care and at RTSSK from 2011 to 2018. Since July of 2018 to present she has worked as a certified nurse assistant at Labette Health.
She enjoyed cooking, dancing, fishing, photography, gardening, yard work and was an avid pet lover, especially dogs. 








Antionette had a genuine love for people and was always helping others especially, her family and being a wonderful mother to her son. In earlier years she had attended Parsons Foursquare Church, Pleas Chapel Church and Macedonia Soul Winning Ministry.

Survivors include her son, Zy’Qarri Grimmett, of the home; her mother, Reba Grimmett, of Parsons; her father, Curtis Lee Harris, Sr. of Texas; sisters, LaQuinta Salter (Lamont) of Wichita, Jalessa Small (Brittney) of Salina, Sue Lewis (Samuel) of Arkansas; brothers, Curtis Harris, Jr. of Kansas, Eugene Allen, Frederick Lewis of Parsons, and Aaron Myers; aunt Cynthia Lakes (Ralph) of Oakland, CA; niece, Amaris Jones and her son, Ky-Air; grandmother, Doris Smith; cousin, Jeaneen Johnson of Antioch, CA and Erica Barber of Kansas; Zy’Qarri’s god-father, Tyren Young; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of cousins.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 1, 2020 at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until service time. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to a fund for her son Zy’Qarri and checks should be made to Great Southern Bank.
