Patsy Shallenburger

Patsy Jean Shallenburger passed from this life on Wednesday, June 19th, 2019 in Freeman Hospital, Joplin, Missouri she was 72.

Patsy was born in Baxter Springs, Kansas on February 24th, 1947 to Abraham Benjamin Dardenne and Goldie Helen (Arnold). She grew up in Baxter Springs, later moving to Miami, Oklahoma. Patsy married John Edward Shallenburger, who preceded her in death on October 29th, 1994.

Patsy loved to cook, even working as a line cook the majority of her life. She also adored spending time with her grandkids. She was a member the Assembly of God Church.

Patsy was preceded in death by her brothers, James Dardenne, Darrell Dardenne, Gary Dardenne, and Donnie Dardenne and her sisters, Colleen Martin, Sue Alderman, Diann Gideon, and Barbara Butterworth.

She is survived by her sons, Jimmie Shallenburger and wife Dana, of Miami, OK., Bill Shallenburger of Miami, Tommy Shallenburger and wife Gladys, of rural Columbus, KS., Jesse Shallenburger and wife Crystal of Langley, OK., and Casey Shallenburger and wife Cassie, of Wyandotte, OK.; her brothers, Steve Dardenne, wife Linda, of Baxter Springs and Dale Dardenne of Baxter Springs; her sister Debbie Gattenby and husband Noel of Tulsa; 18 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 22, 2019 at Derfelt’s Baxter Chapel in Baxter Springs, Kansas. A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, June 21, 2019 at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be her sons and Honorary Pallbearers will be Will, John David, Tommy, Lynn, Derik, Cade, William, Casey, Gunner, Jase, Jeremiah, Bryce, Jimmie, Stephanie, Amanda and Natasha. The service will be officiated by Reverend Geoff Buffalo. Burial will follow at Lowell cemetery.
