Mary McAdams

Mary Lorene (Renn) McAdams, 72, of Arma, KS, passed away from complications of muscular dystrophy which she fought bravely for 15 years, at her home surrounded by her family, on Wednesday, January 23, 2019.

She was born September 30, 1946, on the family farm west of Pittsburg, KS, the daughter of Harmon Mike and Phyllis (Senechal) Renn.

On July 2, 1965, she was united in marriage to George E. McAdams at Pittsburg, KS. He survives of the home.

Mrs. McAdams worked at the Mellers Photo Booth at Chanute, KS, Tri-Mee Drive-In at Fredonia, KS, was a cook at the Altoona Café at Altoona, KS, and was a cashier for Woolworth's at Pittsburg, KS before her retirement.




She was a dedicated mother to her son, Mikey, who had special needs. She loved to ride motorcycles with her husband, long car rides in the country and doing word search puzzles.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Melissa McAdams and her husband, Duane Tomlinson of Cherokee, KS, one sister, Janice Degruson of Pittsburg, KS, six adopted granddaughters, one adopted grandson and nine adopted great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, one son, Raymond Michael McAdams and one sister, Anna Marie Devers.








Per her request she has been cremated. A "Celebration of Life" is set for 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 28, 2019, at the Brenner Mortuary, Pittsburg, with Chaplain Melissa George conducting the service. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, Monday, starting at 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to the Mercy Hospice of Fort Scott, KS, who lovingly provided for her care at home for the last three years.
