Digger Naylor

Chris “Digger” Anthony Naylor, 65, of Scammon, KS died 6:00am Sunday January 13, 2019 at the Via Christi Village following an illness.

Digger was born October 23, 1953 in Pittsburg, KS the son of Arval Edward and Doris Lee (Morrison) Naylor. He was a lifelong resident of the area and a graduate of Southeast High School in 1972. He later attended Allen County Community College on a track and basketball scholarship.

After college, Digger worked at BF Goodrich in Miami, OK, the Parsons Ammunition Plant, a Printer in Girard, KS, Cemetery Manager for Highland Park Cemetery in Pittsburg, KS and finally a Certified Crematory Operator in Weir, KS. Digger was of the Catholic Faith. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with family and friends.



Survivors include his mother Doris Naylor of Weir, KS; daughter Nancy Lee Harp and husband Gary of Hutchinson, KS; siblings Joe Naylor and wife Sally of Pittsburg, KS, Nancy Naylor of Weir, KS, David Naylor of Canton, OH and Barbara Fanning and husband Max of Ft. Scott, KS; grandchildren Race Harp and Mary Harp of Hutchinson, KS and numerous nieces and nephews.
Digger was preceded in death by his father.

Graveside Services will be 11:00am Saturday January 19, 2019 at the St. Bridget’s Cemetery in Scammon, KS with Fr. Robert McElwee officiating.
