Kandy Stemple

Kandy Lynn Stemple, 57, of Erie, died at 12:48 p.m., Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at the Freeman West Hospital in Joplin. Death was unexpected.

She was born January 24, 1961 in Parsons to Carl W. Cole and Norma A. (Reed) Cole. Her early childhood years were in Parsons and the family moved to Thayer, where she grew up and attended schools.

She married Gary Cosby and lived in Altamont a few years. They later divorced. She married James Stemple on August 25, 1985, in Chanute. They lived in Chanute after their marriage and she had been employed at Everbrite and at the Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center. She also drove for an expediting service. Her husband preceded her in death on May 19, 2006.

Kandy had lived in Erie since 1999. She was a member of the Galesburg Christian Church and enjoyed family activities, sporting activities, cooking and crocheting.

Survivors include two sons, Justin Wayne Cosby and wife Rachele, of Walnut and Jesse James Stemple, of Basehor; nine grandchildren; a brother, Kevin Cole and wife Becky, of Parsons and a sister, Carla Rush and husband Steve. of Erie.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Jason Cosby and an infant grandson, Chase Cosby.

FUNERAL SERVICES –will be at 10.00 a.m., Tuesday, at the Pierce-Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Erie, with Pastor Jim Frech officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Chanute.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:30 until 8:00 Monday evening at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Proud Animal Loves Shelter (PALS) in Parsons. They may be left at the funeral home or sent to P.O. Box 182, Erie, KS. 66733.
