Patricia Brunenn

Patricia “Pat” Ann Brunenn, 70, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away at 3:04 p.m. Sunday, August 26, 2018 at Cox South Medical Center in Springfield, Missouri.

She was born February 18, 1948 in Pittsburg, Kansas, the daughter of Samuel and Neva M. (Grandle) Stephens. Patricia attended McCune grade schools and graduated from McCune High School.

On April 20, 1968, she was united in marriage to Carl Brunenn at McCune, Kansas. They just recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. He survives of the home.

Patricia worked as a bookkeeper and field insurance auditor for Liberty Mutual Insurance Company.

Membership was held in the United Methodist Church of McCune and later in Ozawkie, Kansas. She was a member of the Kent Chapter Order of Eastern Star #117 of Weir, Kansas. She enjoyed gardening and sewing and attending her children’s and grandchildren’s activities.

In addition to her husband Carl, she is survived by a daughter, Cortney Keaton and her husband, Miles of Louisburg, Kansas; a son, Andrew Brunenn and his wife Lindsay of Wamego, Kansas; a brother, Gary Stephens and his wife Carol of McCune, KS; a sister, Joyce Caratura and her husband Frank of Leavenworth, KS; and five grandchildren, Skylar Keaton, Sydney Keaton, Lindsay Keaton, Allison Brunenn and Evyn Folck; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday (Aug. 30) at the Brenner Mortuary with Reverend Linda Eads officiating. Burial will be in the Fort Scott National Cemetery. Order of Eastern Star rites will be given at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday (Aug. 29) by the Kent Chapter #117 of Weir. The family will receive friends Wednesday (Aug. 29) from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be given to Boys Town and/or St. Joseph’s Indian School.
