Paul M. Sturm, Sr., 67, of Pittsburg, died at 5:40 p.m. Monday, July 10, 2017, at Via Christi Hospital at Pittsburg, KS.
He was born October 9, 1949, at Argentine, KS, to John C. and Jolene (Giacobi) Sturm. He was a lifelong resident of southeast Kansas and a graduate of Arma High School.
He married Patricia Belle Simons on Jan. 26, 1979, at Girard. They divorced. She preceded him in death on June 18, 2003. Paul worked as a laborer for Producers Coop for many years. Survivors include his four sons, Jack W. Ford Jr. of Erie, KS, Paul "Bud" Sturm Jr. of Parsons, KS, Cornelius Eston Sturm of Erie, KS, and Patrick Joseph Sturm of Erie, KS; his longtime companion, Lucy Threllfall of Pittsburg, KS; two sisters, Sharon Mapes of Arcadia, KS, and Kathleen Hencey of Pittsburg, KS; four brothers, Ted Sturm of Vinita, OK, John Sturm of Vinita, OK, Mike Sturm of Vinita, OK, and Larry Sturm of Pittsburg, KS; 9 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson and one on the way and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, William (Bill) Sturm and Robert Allen (Bob) Sturm, and a great-granddaughter Adaleigh M-K Ford. The family would like to thank the Via Christi Cancer Center for their care and comfort during his battle with cancer.
Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday (July 15) at the Rosebank Cemetery in Mulberry, KS, with Pastor Don Talent officiating. Following the service at 1:00 p.m. the family will be hosting a lunch at the Open Door Fellowship Church, 918 W 20th St., Pittsburg, KS. The family suggests memorials to the Angels Among Us.
