Charles William “Chuck” Burkybile Jr. passed away Thursday morning, July 6, 2017 at the scene of a a pedestrian/car accident at 18th and Main, Galena, KS.
Chuck was born May 7, 1951 in Baxter Springs, KS. His parents were Charles Wm Burkybile Sr and Joann (Strickland) Burkybile.
He worked as the manager of the Galena Motel, Galena KS for several years until he and his partner, Glen Roosa sold it in 2012. He enjoyed walking and gardening.
His companion, Glen A Roosa was fatally injured in the same accident.
Surviving are two brothers, Roger “Poge” Burkybile (wife, Debbie), and Albert Burkybile, all from Baxter Springs, KS; one sister, Beverly Burkybile - Doss, Galena, KS; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Franklin “Flash” Burkybile.
The family received friends Sunday, July 9, 2017 from 4:00 - 6:00 pm at Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena, KS.
Funeral services were at 6:00 pm. Pastor Jeff D Martin will officiate.
