Carol Mae Jarvis, age 74 passed away at 10:33 am, Sunday July 9, 2017 at her home following an illness.
Carol was born Jul 11, 1942 in Lincoln, Nebraska. Her parents were Luther and Marjorie (Payne) VanCleave. She had lived in Galena most of her adult life.
She had worked as a cook at the USD 404 schools, Riverton KS. She was an active member of the Spring Grove Apostolic Faith Church, Galena, SK. She enjoyed playing lotto and taking good care of the children and grandchildren.
Surviving is one daughter, Carol Lee LaTurner, Galena, KS; 3 brothers, Dewey VanCLeave, Tahoe, Nevada, Tom VanCLeave, Wichita, KS, and William VanCleave; and one sister, Marjorie Marcellino, Crete, Nebraska. David Hunter Wilson and Samantha LaTurner both of Galena, KS.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Rodney and Kevin Jarvis.
She was entrusted to Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena KS for cremation.
The family will host a memorial service, at 1:00 pm, Friday, July 14, 2017 at Spring Grove Apostolic Faith Church, Galena, KS. Pastor Clem Moore will officiate.
