Gay Brummitt

Gay Lee Brummitt, 54, of Pittsburg, died at 2:51 p.m. Sunday, July 23, 2017, at the University of Kansas Medical Center.

She was born May 31, 1963, at Ft. Madison, IA, to J.T. and JoAnne (Street) Brummitt. She attended La Plata High School. Gay was known for her spunky personality and giving spirit. Over the years Gay opened her home to anyone who needed a place to stay, a good home cooked meal, or just simply someone to talk to. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and a dedicated little sister. With Gay family was always first and foremost. Anyone who knew her knew how proud she was of her children and grandchildren. 

Survivors include a daughter, Robin Browning, her husband Seth and their daughter, Abigail Glee of Pittsburg, KS; two sons, Vance Frick, his wife Sami and their daughter Adalyn Honor of Kearney, MO, and Garrett Stalder and his wife Andie of Pittsburg, KS; three sisters, Merrilee Wells of Parsons, KS, Joy Brummitt of Farber, MO, and Glee Brummitt Hanson of Ladonia, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Abigail Jo Anne Rhoades.

A celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday (August 12) at First Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Jim Sukraw officiating. A private family burial will be held at a later date in the Coy-Brummitt Cemetery in Trenton, MO. The family suggests memorials to the First Church of the Nazarene.
